BY CAR
We recommend that unless you know the city well, when travelling from the north, east and south you should approach Sheffield by the M1 (and M18 if necessary). From the west, use the A57 snake pass via Glossop. The main routes to the hospital are indicated on the map below, but the hospital is situated just off Glossop Road, and is very close to the city centre. Once you have arrived at the hospital, you may find it difficult to park your car (a common problem in Sheffield!). There is a multi-story car park, situated on A Road, but this is quite expensive and charges £5 per day. From the multi-storey car park, you need to find the main hospital entrance on B Road. This is quite easy, as it is on the next road up from the car park, which is on A Road. Once inside the main entrance, take the lift up to Q floor (the last floor that the lift goes to). Come out of the lift and walk up one flight of stairs to R floor. Turn left out of the stair well and walk along the corridor. Turn left again and walk through some double doors. The MERCS office is the 3rd door on the left.

BY RAIL
Sheffield is situated at the heart of the InterCity network. Regular services operate between Sheffield and London St Pancreas (journey time = 2 ½ hours), Birmingham (journey time = 1 ¼ hours), Leeds (journey time = 1 hour), Manchester (journey time = 1 hour) and Nottingham (journey time = 1 hour). There is a taxi rank at the railway station, the journey to the venue should take no more than 15 minutes, and you should expect to pay approximately £5. Alternatively, there is the number 60 bus that runs from outside the Sheffield Railway station and will take you through the city centre and drop you off outside the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. The bus runs approximately every 10 minutes. Once inside the main hospital entrance, take the lift up to Q floor (the last floor that the lift goes to). Come out of the lift and walk up one flight of stairs to R floor. Turn left out of the stair well and walk along the corridor. Turn left again and walk through some double doors. The MERCS office is the 3rd door on the left.
